About Us
Regal Rosie brings quality, beautiful specimens into your home to reignite your fascination with the natural world. From the smallest of weevils to the largest tarantulas you've ever seen, every piece is created with love, care and deep respect for the life it once held. Each specimen is meticulously hand pinned, preserved and framed for quality and longevity. We strive to make every piece special, honouring each creature and allowing its natural beauty to shine.
From a Hobby to a Passion
Before Regal Rosie came to life, preserving & displaying specimens was simply my hobby, driven by a lifelong love of insects. I found the process of hydrating, pinning & framing butterflies incredibly relaxing & therapeutic; something I'd do on a lazy Sunday or after work to unwind. Before long my home was filled with framed insects and there were no signs of slowing down.
The first butterfly dome I ever made - we've come a long way!
So I decided to try my luck selling on Etsy... and quickly realised I might be onto something. Over the past three years Regal Rosie on Etsy has maintained a 4.9 star rating and shipped beautiful insect taxidermy all over the world! I still proudly run our Etsy shop alongside this website today.
Since then, a lot has changed. I left my demanding full-time job, welcomed a new baby to the family & launched my own website. We've also expanded our skills and product lines to include a wide variety of insects, arachnids, bone art & dried flora.

The Team
My name is Ri, and I am the designer, creator, marketer, customer service advisor and everything in between! Although Regal Rosie is mostly a one-woman show, I'm lucky to have my incredible family behind me. My partner Mitch is frequently sent on never-ending trips to the post office, and our baby boy supplies endless laughs and motivation.
My small, but very cheeky helper
We also have some very important (and unpaid) team members. My dermestid beetles win Employee of the Month every month for their bone cleaning services. Mitch and I also keep several snakes who generously donate their shed skins, and I raise multiple insect species that are used in my art when they pass.
Our Mission & Values
Regal Rosie stands for simple, eye-catching taxidermy and entomology art that sparks curiosity and wonder. We aim to create pieces that make people stop and say "Wow... is that real?!".
Sustainability is at the heart of everything we do. As nature lovers, we feel it's our responsibility to protect vulnerable species and care for the environment. Every specimen is carefully sourced to ensure there is no negative impact on ecosystems, and wherever possible we utilise invasive species to help support local bushland.

We're partnered with Ecologi, who plant a tree for every order we take, both on our website and in person at market events.
We use paper-based packaging and reuse all plastic packaging received from suppliers. If your order arrives with bubble wrap or similar materials, please know it’s been given a second life — and we encourage you to reuse it again to help reduce waste.
And the Name?
Most people assume my name is Rosie, but that name belongs to someone very special to me. At 14 I got my first pet snake, Rosie, a beautiful Coastal Carpet Python. She's now 13 years old and prettier than ever. I’ve always loved the unloved, and using her name felt right. Since both our names start with “R,” Regal felt like the perfect match, and it has a nice ring to it too.
Keep Up with the Latest
We’re constantly expanding our collection with new sustainable, intricate, and one-of-a-kind pieces — from framed specimens to domes and curio boxes. Many items are truly unique, so stock is limited.
